Art for the Wall incudes both paintings in oil and drawings in ink, pencil, and crayon. This figurative work is absorbed with the intent to express the inner in the outer, to give form and substance to that which is invisible, the human heart. Most of the drawings are done directly from life, and by necessity in a shorter time frame than the oils. They are less studied, more spontaneous, perhaps fresher, the captured moment. The oils are constructed in the studio and go through many incarnations before they settle into themselves. They are therefore, more complex. Both approaches have value and are important elements of my art process and practice.
