My work in oil is foundational; I am primarily a painter. I have explored many subjects in oil including landscape, still life and abstraction, but figurative work is currently my main concentration. My aim is to attain a liveliness and sensitivity that makes you forget that my imaginary beings are indeed, just paint, and, in their own way, live and breathe. Elaborate description or exactitude is not my goal, but the emotional content could not be realized without some attention to believable light and form.
Notice the way the figures are fragmented into planes of color. The colors are fanciful and not local, but somehow you accept them as believable. That is the distinguishing characteristic of my painting.
