I started with stained and painted glass, fascinated with the prospect of working with light as a partner, and I eventually moved into kiln fired work– fused, painted and cast glass. For some reason I cannot fathom, my imagery in glass is more playful than it is in paint and collage. I do get a little thrill when I open the kiln and find out what has happened inside.
I am primarily an image maker, but I’ve dabbled in sculpture. I’m very proud of the few works I’ve accomplished in wood but don’t expect to make many more due to the pure physicality they require. I do love making art out of found objects and mixing and matching media– once again, taking things apart and putting them back together.
